Overview

IBM’s version of the compact Chandra 2 design: a 9.2-inch 800 × 600 TFT notebook with a 233 MHz MMX Pentium, 32 MB of RAM and a 3.2 GB disk in the Japanese launch configuration.

Historical context

The 1.25 kg machine addressed demand for a smaller notebook and included three PC Card slots. It could carry two camcorder-style lithium-ion batteries, exchanging them one at a time while operating; the 1998 configuration shipped with Windows 98 and Lotus software.
